Yogyakarta Nightlife

There are numerous disco clubs around town that have a lively nightlife, often with guest DJs from other cities in Indonesia or overseas Along Malioboro Street and in the Pasar Kembang area there are some late-night bars. Clubs worth checking out include Hugo’s, Embassy, Caesars, Liquid and Graha Paramitha, especially on weekends. Most remain busy until 3 a.m.

Each of these popular disco night spots is a bit different. Hugo’s has a special midnight signature ritual show performed by the bartenders and waiters, you must see it.

Graha Paramitha Jalan Mayor Suryotomo No. 26.

Has good resident DJ's with funk and trance, lively on weekends until late.

Liquid

Jalan Magelang.
Go to the Liquid Disco, not the Futsal branch with the same name.

Caesars Club

Inside Jogja’s largest shopping mall, Ambarrukmo Plaza.
Entertainment, pool tables, hotspot, Blue light atmosphere.

Bintang Bar, Jl Sosrowijayan, Malioboro area.

Cosy atmosphere, and cheap drinks. Live music from Thursday through Saturday nights, with blues, Reggae, and rock. Various other bars along Malioboro serve beer and provide an interesting local atmosphere.

Blatz Bar

Jalan Kaliurang.
A slick bar well known for great cocktails, with live jazz every Tuesday night. They also have pool tables and free Internet access.

Stages Ramayana dance drama performances in the Javanese classical tradition, at 8 p.m. nightly.
